2025 Teacher of the Year

Each year schools within King George County recognize a Teacher of the Year.  This award honors teachers who represent the best in teaching throughout the school division and the Commonwealth of Virginia.  The program is open to all teachers in pre-kindergarten through grade 12, including school librarians, counselors, and reading specialists who hold a current renewable Virginia teaching license.  The Teacher of the Year is recognized for the entire upcoming school year.  King George County Schools is thrilled to announce the exemplary candidates for 2025.


Jennette White, King George Preschool Teacher of the Year, is a 2-year-old and 3-year-old teacher.  She has been with the preschool program since 2010. She works to give every student in her class the individual attention that they need. Additionally, Mrs. White collaborates with multiple service providers and therapists to address student development and learning with a team approach. 

Kimberlee Mohle, King George Elementary Teacher of the Year, is a fifth-grade teacher. In her 17 years of teaching, Mrs. Mohle has made positive relationships with her students helping them to feel safe and supported. She currently serves as the lead for her team for Project KIND.  Mrs. Mohle consistently models how relationships with parents, her students, and her colleagues leave a lasting impact. 

Casey Holbrook, Potomac Elementary Teacher of the Year, is a fourth-grade teacher. She has made several contributions to the school and education community in the areas of technology, professional development, and character education. Her dedication to education extends to presenting at local and state conferences, sponsoring the Beta Club, becoming a Certified Mentor Teacher, and being a leader of Project KIND.  Mrs. Holbrook is a teacher-leader dedicated to meeting the needs of her students.

Janie Williams, Sealston Elementary Teacher of the Year, is a kindergarten teacher. She exhibits exceptional dedication, passion, and innovation in her classroom. Mrs. Williams ensures that each child feels heard and seen while promoting academic success for the individual student. She exemplifies what it means to be a teacher, a nurturer, and someone you trust your child with. 

Tracy Conover, King George Middle School Teacher of the Year, is a science teacher and department chair.  Mrs. Conover is a dynamic and innovative teacher who keeps her students active and engaged to ensure they learn as much as possible. She is involved in numerous activities to help improve KGMS including school-wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Strategies, Teacher Mentor Program, 8th Grade Awards Committee, and professional development. Mrs. Conover’s passion is noticed by students as they go home and tell their parents about science class and also comes through her regular communication with families. 

Amber Walde, King George High School Teacher of the Year is an English teacher. Mrs. Walde serves as the mentor liaison and holds monthly new teacher meetings which provide both support and encouragement for teachers new to the profession. Additionally, Mrs. Walde is a homebound teacher for students who need this service in King George County Schools. She works tirelessly to support her students and will do whatever it takes for them to grow their confidence and skills.
